Having rolled Dogmersfield over for 117 the 1st XI must have fancied their chances but struggled against some accurate and some downright “peculiar” bowling eventually failing 24 runs short.
The 2nd XI came up against a Pirbright side significantly strengthened by a player shortly heading off to play in the Caribbean Premier League. Clem led the way putting his body on the line to take a return catch and deny him a hundred and sprightly Bozier ran out the other aspiring centurion but their 244-6 declared in 44 overs was always a challenge despite a fighting 49 from Clem and an encouraging 38* for the whippet.
The 3rd XI was over by 3 o’clock as a very under strength Peper Harrow II were skittled by the wily Pete Withers (4-20 including a hat trick – jug still owing!) and booming inswingers from Hugo Young (3-10) for only 44. Knight and Spresney knocked them off in the 7th over.
