Barran Swinging Again

Canters continued to be a useless tosser and Tilford were asked to bat first as the sun shone down on the picturesque ground in Peper Harow Park.

Uneven bounce and a surprisingly slow outfield combined to make runs difficult to come by for the Tilford top order “touch” players who built a platform around a solid knock from Wilson and it was left to Tom MacKay, James Clements and Ali Mac to give the innings impetus in the last few over as Tilford accelerated to 162-7 from the full 48 overs.

The Peper Harow response started smartly but, as in previous weeks, the Tilford bowlers stuck at their task and Johhny Barran’s booming inswingers (5-22) ripped through the top order before Canters, sensing some easy wickets, brought himself on to mop up a demoralized tail as they collapsed to 82 all out.
